Rokas Masiulis appointed Lithuania’s new Minister of Transport and Communications

With the Seimas having approved the programme of the 17th government of the Republic of Lithuania on December 13, the Ministry of Transport and Communications has got a new minister. Rokas Masiulis was introduced to the staff of the Ministry by Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, the Ministry’s press release says.

“I would like to thank the former minister for his work and introduce a new Minister of Transport and Communications from whom I expect efficient performance. From the staff of the Ministry I expect fewer words and more deeds as well as to be more courageous, resolute and creative,” said the Prime Minister.

The newly-appointed minister Rokas Masiulis stressed that he would not tolerate corruption. He pointed out that he appreciated active, hard-working and go-ahead workers, saying that they could approach him at any time.

The 47-year-old minister Rokas Masiulis has a degree in economics as well as international relations and politics. In the previous government he held the office of Minister of Energy, which he took on 25 September 2014.
