Murmansk Commercial Seaport puts into operation mobile dust suppression units (photo)
Murmansk Commercial seaport JSC has put into operation new mobile dust suppression units WLP 718. They are ready to be deployed with the beginning of unfavorable meteorological conditions, says the company.
New mobile units, just like other dust suppression systems, were manufactured in Italy. With its “winter package” new equipment can be operated at low temperatures.
WLP 718 equipment can make water/snow mist covering the area of 24,000 m each. Theorical throw distance: 80-90m; Range of rotation: 340°.
The equipment can be transported to the site by special trailers. Two trailers have been purchased by Murmansk Commercial seaport in advance and 5 employees have been trained to operate the equipment.
Murmansk Commercial Seaport (MMTP JSC) was founded in 1994. MMTP operates 17 berths with total length of about 3 km. The waters depths allow the port accommodate vessels with draft of up to 15.5 m and length of over 265 m.
In 2015 Murmansk Commercial Seaport transshipped 14.6 mln t of cargo including 13.6 mln t of coal (93.3% of total throughput). Over the year the company handled 291 vessels and 206,207 wagons.
