ABP says it has invested £300,000 to refurbish the headquarters of Spirit Yachts at Ipswich Haven Marina.
The investment underpins an arrangement which will see the company, which manufactures modern classic yachts including the ‘007 Yacht’ that featured in Casino Royale, remain in Ipswich until 2031.
The Port of Ipswich’s work on the site included a full re-clad of one of their buildings and the installation of a significantly larger entrance door giving Spirit Yachts an opportunity to work with different shaped and sized vessels.
ABP Divisional Port Manager, Paul Ager said: “Our project with Spirit Yachts was delivered on time and within budget and we are pleased to deliver a fit-for-purpose, energy efficient building.”
Short Sea Ports Director Andrew Harston said: “This is another long-term investment in partnership with our customers which illustrates ABP’s commitment to provide state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure.
“Spirit Yachts are a world-class business demonstrating incredible workmanship and we are delighted to have them located in the heart of the historic Ipswich Wet dock and marina.”
