Okskaya Shipyard (UCL Holding) says it allocated RUB 19 mln under the company’s modernization programme in January-December 2016, twice as much as in the previous year. The bulk of this amount was spent for new equipment procurement, modernization and reconstruction of the existing facilities.
In the reporting period the company put into operation its new paint shop allowing for considerable facilitation of painting process (up to two 30-tonne hull sections). The required temperature is kept constant in the paint shop to ensure high quality of painting in any weather.
The company also acquired two Messer metal culling and ROSLER metal finishing equipment.
To improve energy efficiency of the shipyard, a new 9 MW boiler station was put into operation. Okskaya Shipyard is now able to save annual electricity costs by 35%.
The last project was the installation and launching of the Linde Gas station costing RUB 0.6 mln.
In 2017, the company will start the new phase of modernization focused to increase labour productivity and reduce energy costs. Some RUB 26 mln are supposed to be allocated for that purpose.
Okskaya Shipyard is a modern shipbuilding enterprise (member of VBTH, a division of UCL Holding). Okskaya Shipyard specializes in the construction of oil tankers and medium-tonnage mixed 'river-sea' class dry cargo vessels, containerships, special vessels and barges. In 2015, Okskaya Shipyard was the second largest shipyard in Russia in terms of total tonnage of newbuildings.
