Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports down 8.9% to 131.99 mln t in 2016

In January-December 2016, seaports of Ukraine handled 131.998 mln t of cargo (-8.9%), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 100.395 mln t (- 3.3%), imports – 16.013 mln t (- 10.8%), transit – 10.370 mln t (-34.8%), inland traffic – 5.220 mln t (- 23.7%).

State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled 38.415 mln t (29.1% of total volume). Other port operators (mostly private operators) handled 93.583 mln t (70.9% of total volume) including 53.490 mln t handled via USPA berths (40.5% of total volume).

Container throughput in seaports of Ukraine totaled 588,542 TEUs (+24.1%, year-on-year).
