Cargo volumes handled at the Port of Singapore in January-December 2016 climbed by 3%, year-on-year, to 593.3 million tonnes, the Port Authority statistics show.
The volume of oil cargo climbed by 13% to 221.4 million tonnes, while non-oil bulk cargo – by 1% to 186.22 million tonnes.
The port’s container throughput was nearly flat at 30.9 million TEUs.
Singapore is the city-state located on an island in Southeast Asia. In 2015, container traffic at Port of Singapore reached 30.92 TEUs, total cargo throughput was 575 million tonnes.
