NIBULON continues implementing its shipbuilding programme as part of cooperation with EIB

NIBULON says it continues implementing its own shipbuilding programme in 2017 as part of the cooperation with the European Investment Bank.

Thus, the specialists started forming afterbody of the sixth (out of eight) non-self-propelled B2000 project vessel, designed for operation on the Southern Buh River, on the shipyard’s berth.  In particular, the specialists are jointing units No. 6, 8, 10; sections of units No. 2 and 4 are being cleaned and primed before installation; the specialists of the assembly and welding workshop are producing sections of units No. 1, 7, 9 and hatch covers.

At the same time, construction of complete pusher tugs of modernized 121M project is being performed. The shipbuilders complete formation of the pressure-proof hull of the first out of three tugs (manufacturing order No. 10019). The afterbody of the vessel’s superstructure is installed; formation of the forebody and navigation room is being finished. NIBULON’s shipbuilders also complete production of the items for the hull of the tug (manufacturing order No. 10020). The company plans to construct and put into operation three 121M project tugs in May and June. It should be noted that this will be the second triple of 121 project tugs built at our shipyard.

Moreover, in 2017 NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard will complete construction of the series of non-self-propelled B2000 project vessels, launch a new loader and “Mykolaivets” dredger (metal and equipment for its construction have been ordered) as part of the cooperation with the EIB. Due to the given cooperation, the shipyard has a hundred per cent heavy orders book for the next two years.

Thus, NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard will have constructed 4 vessels (a non-self-propelled B2000 project vessel and 3 tugs) by the end of the marketing year, resulting in increase of the company’s fleet to 59 units.
