Acting Chairman of USPA calls upon strengthening of dialogue between industry leaders and ports’ society

The Acting Chairman of USPA Raivis Veckagans met with representatives of trade unions and called upon the strengthening of the dialogue between the leaders of the industry and ports’ society.

During the meeting, the CEO outlined its vision on investment attractiveness and creation of a new jobs at the seaports.

«The principal task of such a powerful enterprise as USPA is creation of favorable conditions for business operation. The essence of the state property management, based on the provisions of the Law „On Sea Ports of Ukraine“ should be aimed at the development of ports, creation of new facilities as well as handling enterprises at the seaports. USPA should create conditions for investment attraction and jobs creation at the seaports»,— the CEO stressed.

«We want you to see us as reliable partners and we are looking forward for continuation of the social dialogue from which you started your work today»,— the Chairman of Ukrainian Maritime Transport Workers Trade Union (united) Sergey Bryzgalov said.

The State Enterprise «Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority» was established as a result of the entry into force of the Law «On the Seaports of Ukraine» in 2013. SE «USPA» is a unitary enterprise based on the right of economic authority, consisting of a Head Office (Kiev), the Main Representative Office (Odessa), 13 branches in the ports of Ukraine, «Delta-pilot» Branch and has more than 8 000 employees.

Raivis Veckagans was appointed the Acting CEO of USPA by the order of Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan on 12 January 2016.
