NOVATEK project on construction of large-capacity offshore installations can become one of Kola anchor zone projects

Project Office of the Murmansk Region suggests inclusion of the NOVATEK project on establishment of a centre for the construction of large-capacity offshore installations at the Belokamenka settlement into the list of the Kola anchor zone projects, says press center of the Murmansk Region Government . The decision was made at the dedicated meeting of the Project Office.

Other projects suggested at the meeting are those of the largest companies in the region – Kola GMK and Apatite JSC.

The meeting considered the list of projects implementation of which is planned or is underway in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. The list has been developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade basing on the information provided by the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, federal authorities and organizations in the first half of 2016. The list numbers 151 projects including 18 projects in the Murmansk Region.

On the agenda also was a list of priority projects considered as the anchor projects for the development of Russia’s Arctic entities and the macroregion as a whole. This list comprises the comprehensive development of Murmansk Transport Hub, construction of a lead and serial multi-purpose icebreakers and the project of Rosneft to create an onshore support base for offshore projects.

The proposals will be submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Trade in February 2017.
