In 2016 the turnover of Multipurpose Reloading Complex LLC (MRC, part of UCL Holding) in the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region) showed an increase of 7% compared to 2015 and reached 4.5 million tons of cargo, the company says in a press release.
The dynamics were positive due to the increase in volume of the company’s main cargoflow – exported power coal by 5% up to 4.26 million tons. At the same time MRC increased the export of manganese ore twice up to 245 thousand tons.
The growth was supported by the implementation of technical upgrade programme. As a result of putting a new conveyor line into operation with the capacity of 1000 tons per hour MRC increased handling of semi-wagons up to 171 units per day – 6% more than last year. The maximum number of semi-wagons handled a day reached 307 units.
In total MRC handled 59 815 semi-wagons with coal and 2 880 with manganese ore. All-in-all, in 2016 the terminal accepted 124 cargo vessels.
