Multipurpose Reloading Complex (Ust-Luga) invested RUB 39.1 mln in upgrading of its cargo handling facilities in 2016

“Multipurpose Reloading Complex” LLC (MRC, part of UCL Holding) in the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region) says it invested 39.1 million RUR to upgrade its cargo handling facilities in 2016. Mainly, the funds were allocated for purchase of new equipment and for renovation of the port infrastructure.

Within the mentioned period MRC put into operation 225 meters of conveyor line to transport the bulk cargoes from the yard to the berths. Besides, the company bought two grab buckets GH 16-9,5 with the capacity of 9.5m3 each. New machinery allowed for higher intensity of railcar operations at the terminal and for growth of the cargo turnover up to 4.5 million in 2016.

At the end of 2016 MRC made an advance payment for the purchase of two LIEBHERR cranes with 2.5m3 grab each to optimize the technological process and to enhance the cargo handling operations. The commissioning of the cranes is planned for the first half of this year.

In addition to the aforesaid, in 2016 the construction of new amenity areas for the workers was completed and the fire alarm system was installed at MRC. Also, engineering and geodetic studies were conducted by the company to design new railway loading ramp.

“Multipurpose Reloading Complex”, LLC (MRC) (member of UCL Port – stevedoring division of the international transportation group UCL Holding) – cargo terminal in the port of Ust-Luga, Leningrad region, specializing in unloading, storage and loading of exported and imported general and bulk cargoes. The main cargo is export power coal. In 2016 MRC LLC handled 4.5 million tons of cargoes.
