In January 2017, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 894,000 t of cargo (+34.7%, year-on-year), Acting Harbour Master of Rostov-on-Don port Andrei Iovlev told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of crude and oil products climbed by 23% to 282,000 t, grain – by 19.4% to 223,000 t, coal and coke – up 3-fold to 167,000 t, non-grain bulk cargo – by 17.9% to 84,000 t, metal scrap – by 31.3% to 55,000 t, liquid bulk food – by 30.9% to 52,000 t. Transshipment of general cargo fell by 22.9% to 25,500 t.
In the reporting period, loading at the port increased by 35.5% to 870,000 t, unloading – by 11.3% to 24,600 t. No transit cargo was handled in the reporting period, just like a year ago.
The number of arrivals/departures increased to 218/217 against 167/169 a year ago.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don increased by 3.7% to 6,800 t.
