MRTS has acted as a sponsor of the Fourth International Forum of Dredging Companies, held on 15 February in Moscow, in Radisson Ukraine Hotel.
This event is organised by PortNews Media Group in partnership with the Federal State Unitary Enterprise ‘Rosmorport’ and International Association of Dredging Companies, and with personal participation of its Secretary General Rene Kolman.
The International Forum of Dredging Companies is the main platform to discuss the key trends of the industry and challenges all of us have to face. Besides this, the business may debate here critical issues with the representatives of authorities, discuss the most interesting innovations and, as well, explore their new development trends. MRTS takes part in this event every year and highly appreciates its significance for our industry, so the Holding headship has decided to render sponsorship assistance to the Forum.
MRTS Holding will also take part in the business programme of the forum and will present a report on Arkhangelsk Sea Port Development within the session of Projects and Technologies. The issue on port dredging from the railway bridge to Ekonomia (Economy) District, including the city centre and marine and river boat station, was brought up in early February of the current year during a meeting of the workgroup on this object development within the regional Government.
Particularly, dredging of the main navigable pass from 7.5 to 9.2 m will allow increasing the lifting capacity of the vessels handled up to 20 ths. tonnes and, as well, achieving other results that will affect the pay-off period and profitability of the port. This project will require investments amounting to 189 mln. roubles we may get through establishment of a public-private partnership (PPP).
