Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg «Marine Façade» PLC says its representatives took part in the industry thematic week of import substitution in tourism "Russia - tourism area", which was held in St Petersburg from 26th to 28th of January 2017, with the support of St. Petersburg Tourism Committee on the Development and Saint Petersburg Convention Bureau.
Within the frameworks of the round table "Development of tourism infrastructure," Commercial Director of "PP SPb MF" PLC made a presentation on the topic "State and development of the Passenger port of St. Petersburg and the sea cruise shipping", which contained the information about the main trends in the global market of cruise tourism in general and in the Baltic region in particular, as well as the production figures of Passenger port in 2016 and plans for 2017.
The report highlighted the key prerequisites for the further development of the cruise segment in St. Petersburg, including the information that due to the initiative of the city administration the project related to the organization of “Center of International cruise tourism” in St. Petersburg is currently being discussed. The presentation also highlighted the key infrastructure projects in Port: the construction of remote mooring dolphins for berth #7, reconstruction of Russian Federation border checkpoint. Also, among other things, it was noted about the work related to the establishment of “the port of start and end of cruises” on the basis of the Passenger Port.
St. Petersburg Tourism Committee on the Development and Committee for Transport were the moderators of the round table. The St. Petersburg State Institution “External Transport Agency”, «Northern Capital Gateway LLC (NCG)», Association of passenger ships owners of St. Petersburg, Russian Railway Tours and other St. Petersburg transport organizations took part in the discussions.
