Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) announced today it recently gained an additional certificate of World-Class Product for an 1,2000 m3 ethylene carreir that it delivered in 2016 to Eletson corporation.
World-Class Product is a policy where Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy selects products that have over 5% global market share, rank within the Top 5 in their market, and have an international market worth over USD 50 million with exports of USD 5 million annually.
With the addition of the certificate, HMD now holds the certificate for eight different types of ships including product carriers and LPG carriers.
Moreover, four ships HMD built last year were selected as “Significant Ships of 2016” by Naval Architect, a U.K. magazine specializing in marine transportations. Now HMD-built ships have been recognized with the title for 16 consecutive years for high quality.
