Cargo volumes at the Port of New York and New Jersey beat several records in January 2017, the company said in its press release.
Container volumes hit a new monthly high with a total of 296,432 lifts or 517,668 TEUs for an increase of 8.3 percent over totals logged in January 2016.
Loaded import containers hit 149,757 lifts for an increase of 5.5 percent over January 2016.
Loaded export containers hit 61,740 lifts for an increase of 8 percent over January 2016.
Export empties also topped monthly totals from the previous year, logging 83,731 units for an increase of 14.6 percent.
Complementing these tallies, rail volumes saw their best January ever with 43,408 units for an increase of 10.3 percent.
And with 49,097 units, auto volumes soared 41.5 percent over those logged in January 2016.
