Shipping operations at Spanish ports have been badly hit due to labour disputes as a consequence of the Spanish Port Act aiming to change the existing labour system in ports in accordance with the European Union regulations, CMA CGM said in its press release.
Industrial actions by Stevedores’ Union with a number of strikes planned through the month of March will further deteriorate CMA CGM operations in Spain.
CMA CGM Group has announced the implementation of an Emergency Port Congestion Surcharge until further notice, as follows:

All cargo including dry, reefer, out of gauge and break bulk
Effective March 10th, 2017 (B/L date)
Spanish imports:
