NCSP volumes for January-February 2017 totaled 23.8 mln tons

NCSP Group says its consolidated cargo turnover for January-February 2017 increased comprised 23 800 thousand tons, in line with first two months of 2016.

Transshipment of cargo in February 2017 totaled 11 130 thousand tons, versus 12 670 thousand tons in January 2017, mostly because February was a shorter month also beset by adverse weather. In February storm warnings at the port of Novorossiysk lasted over 15 days and totaled 373 hours, which is 21% longer than in January, when storm warnings lasted some 309 hours.

Transshipment of liquid cargo in January-February 2017 totaled 18 566 thousand tons, including 12 745 thousand tons of crude oil, 5 601 thousand tons of oil products, 131 thousand tons of UAN, and 89 thousand tons of seed oils.

Transshipment of bulk cargo in January-February 2017 increased by 16.2% y-o-y (333 thousand tons) and reached 2 401 thousand tons.

Grain and coal performed best as their transshipment increased 37.6% y-o-y (429 thousand tons) and 18.7% y-o-y (53 thousand tons) reaching 1 569 thousand tons and 337 thousand tons respectively.

Volumes of iron ore, chemical cargo, and raw sugar in the first two months of 2017 comprised 340 thousand tons, 124 thousand tons, and 31 thousand tons respectively.

Transshipment of general cargo in January-February 2017 totaled 1 944 thousand tons, including 1 680 thousand tons of ferrous metals and pig iron, 181 thousand tons of non-ferrous metals, 56 thousand tons of timber, and 27 thousand tons of perishable cargo. Decrease in ferrous metals and pig iron volumes is due to adverse weather and the ensuing 50% restriction on railroad dispatches for Novorossiysk, and shipments being postponed.

Transshipment of containers in January-February 2017 totaled 861 thousand tons or 84 thousand TEU.

Transshipment of other cargo in January-February 2017 totaled 28 thousand tons.
