In January-March 2017, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 2.676 mln t of cargo (+16.8%, year-on-year), Acting Harbour Master of Rostov-on-Don port Andrei Iovlev told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of grain increased by 18.5% to 888,000 t, crude and oil products – by 24.2% to 776,000 t, bulk coal and coke – 2.3 times to 395,000 t, liquid food – by 17.6% to 162,000 t. Transshipment of non-grain cargo fell by 6.8% to 284,000 t, metal scrap – by 45.8% to 91,000 t, general cargo – by 37.6% to 74,600 t.
In the reporting period, loading at the port increased by 17.1% to 2.539 mln t while unloading declined by 0.3% to 122,000 t. Transshipment of transit cargo totaled 14,500 t (no transit cargo was handled in same period of the previous year).
The number of arrivals/departures decreased to 658 / 662 against 614 / 621 a year ago.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don decreased by 20.4% to 17,900 t.
