In the 1st quarter of 2017 “Multipurpose Reloading Complex, LLC” (MRC, a part of UCL Holding) in the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region) spent 1.96 mln roubles for the implementation of nature protection measures, which is 5.6 times more than during the same period of last year, MRC says in a press release.
Such growth came as a result of the increased spending for modernization of the terminal’s environmental facilities. For instance, in order to comply with the requirements of environmental legislation, MRC reconstructed temporary waste accumulation areas.
During the same period, in order to avoid possible contaminations, the company monitored the quality of atmospheric air on the boundary of sanitary protection zone. As part of water resources protection plan, MRC carried out systematic control over the quality of natural waters and monitored the use of the coastal area.
“Multipurpose Reloading Complex”, LLC (the company of UCL Port – stevedoring division of the international transportation group UCL Holding) – cargo terminal in the port of Ust-Luga, Leningrad region, specializing in accepting, storage and export/import shipments of general and bulk cargoes. The main cargo is export power coal. In 2016 the turnover of “MRC”, LLC amounted to 4.5 mln tons of cargoes.
