Cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s IWWs up 40.5% to 694,000 t in 4M’17
By 1 May 2017, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s IWWs totaled 694.000 mln t (+40.5%. year-on-year), Azov-Don Basin Administration told IAA PortNews.
In January-April 2017, transportation of transit cargo grew by 31.5% to 568,000 t, internal turnover doubled to 126,000 t.
In January-April 2017, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 489 vessel movements including 226 downward and 263 upward (versus 410 in the same period of 2016: 163 downward and 247 upward).
In April 2017, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin surged by 38.1%, year-on-year, to 682,000 t. Transportation of heavy fuel oil grew by 20.6% to 152,000 t while transportation of sulphur fell by 8.7% to 115,000 t. Transit cargo flow jumped by 31.5% to 568,000 t, internal turnover – by 83.9% to 114,000 t.
In April 2017, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 479 vessel movements including 222 downward and 257 upward (versus 402 in April 2016: 163 downward and 239 upward).
The total length of the waterways in the area of responsibility Azov-Don Basin Administration is 691.3 kilometers.
