Igor Ponomarev elected as Director General of Severnaya Verf shipyard (photo)
Shareholders of Severnaya Verf shipyard (PJSC Severnaya Verf, Saint-Petersburg, part of United Shipbuilding Corporation) elected Igor Ponomarev as Director General of the company for a 5-year period, says the shipyard.
Igor Ponomarev was born on October 30, 1954. Graduated from the Leningrad Higher Naval Engineering School, Naval Academy named after А. А. Grechko and Moscow Institute of International Business. Served in the Pacific Fleet of Russia and in main technical directorate of RF Navy. Used to head Rosoboronexport’s Navy Department and held the position of Director General at Sudexport OJSC. From 2011 – head of the USC Department for Military and Technical Cooperation. From May 2013 – Vice-President on Naval Construction at USC. From 2012 till 2015 – Director General of Sudoexport; from 2013 till 2015 - Acting Director General of Yantar Shipyard.
