In January-May 2017, the network of Russian Railways loaded 516.9 mln t of cargo, up 3.8%, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 149.3 mln t (+9.4% year-on-year); coke – 4.7 mln t (+1.3%); crude and oil products – 99 mln t (+1.3%); iron and manganese ores – 45.2 mln t (-1.1%); ferrous metal – 29.8 mln t (-0.4%); ferrous metal scrap – 5.6 mln t (+7.4%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 23.8 mln t (+7%); cement – 9.6 mln t (-1.5%); forest cargo – 19.1 mln t (+4.3%); grain – 8.1 mln t (+6.2%); construction cargo – 52.6 mln t (-4.4%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 8.5 mln t (-1.4%); chemical and soda – 11 mln t (+2.4%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 14.6 mln t (+14.3%).
From the beginning of the year, freight turnover totaled 1,022.6 bln tariff ton-km (+7.4%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs was 1,306.8 bln ton-km (+7.1%).
In May, loading totaled 106.5 mln t (+3.5%, year-on-year).
Freight turnover in May grew by 7% to 209.3 bln tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs grew by 6.5% to 265.9 bln ton-km.
