The Northern Sea Route will be used much more actively than now – Vladimir Putin

When answering the questions during the Direct Line on 15 June 2017, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Arctic an extremely important region, which will ensure the future of the country. 

“We need to establish ourselves there, and we will do it” said the President. According to him, the Northern Sea Route will be used much more actively than now.

When speaking about the modernization of Baltiysky Zavod in Saint-Petersburg, Vladimir Putin said that the shipyard would develop. “We have included the necessary funds in the budgets”, he added.
