In January-June 2017, the network of Russian Railways loaded 620.7 mln t of cargo, up 3.6%, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 177.3 mln t (+9.4% year-on-year); coke – 5.6 mln t (-0.6%); crude and oil products – 117.8 mln t (+1.1%); iron and manganese ores – 54.6 mln t (-0.5%); ferrous metal – 35.2 mln t (-1%); ferrous metal scrap – 7.1 mln t (+2.4%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 28.4 mln t (+8.1%); cement – 12.5 mln t (-1.4%); timber – 22.8 mln t (+4.3%); grain – 9.2 mln t (+9.9%); construction cargo – 65 mln t (-5.5%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 10.2 mln t (-1.9%); chemicals and soda – 13 mln t (+2%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 18 mln t (+14%).
From the beginning of the year, freight turnover totaled 1225.3 bln tariff ton-km (+7.4%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 1564.2 bln ton-km (+7%).
In June, loading grew by 2.6% to 103.8 mln t.
Freight turnover in June 2017 grew by 7.2%, year-on-year, to 202.5 bln tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon grew by 7% to 257.2 bln ton-km.
