Throughput of port Azov up 3.5% to 3.85 mln t in 6M’17

In January-June 2017, seaport of Azov handled 3.856 mln t mln t of cargo (+3.5%, year-on-year), the port Harbour Master Vladimir Bragin told IAA PortNews. 

In the reporting period, transshipment of grain grew by 6.1% to 2.138 mln t, coal – by 86.6% to 391,000 t, Transshipment of oil products fell by 14.8% to 998,000 t.

Internal turnover of Azov seaport  increased by 13.1% to 3.051 mln t, imports – by 50.1% to 174,000 t, short-sea traffic – 2.4 times to 966,000 t. Exports dropped by 12.3% to 1.911 mln t, transit – by 21.6% to 805,000 t.

The Azov Port Harbour Master Service registered 1,391 arrivals and 1,429 departures vs 1,447 arrivals and 1,453 departures in January-June 2016.

Port of Azov is situated on the banks of the Don river. It is the main gateway between the Mediterranean Sea with the inland waterways of Russia and the Caspian Sea, for freight flows to the central part of Russia, the Urals and Central Asia. The boundaries of the port's basin include the River Don from the 3151.0-km stretch, the Koysug River to the receiving Buoy No 1 of Azov-Don Sea Canal, including outer anchorage No. 6 and the Calancea bayou to Dugino stop-over point.‎
