In January-June 2017, the port of Kaliningrad handled 6,601,500 t of cargo, up 8%, year-on-year, says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo grew 2.2 times to 1,403,600 t including 360,400 t of coal (+10%). Transshipment of mineral fertilizers fell by 80% to 2,800 t with other cargoes showing an increase.
Transshipment of dry loose cargo dropped by 17% to 1,844,300 t, transshipment of general cargo fell by 16% to 630,100 t.
The port’s container throughput grew by 33.6% to 118,810 TEUs.
Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 737,100 t (+6%), liquid bulk cargo – 1,417,400 t (+9%) including 736,100 t of oil products (+18%), 330,500 t of crude oil (-18%) and 319,300 t of food cargo (+26%).
In 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 11.70 mln t (-8%).
