Ships of Chinese Navy arrived in Baltiysk to participate in joint exercise
Group of three ships of the People's Republic of China Navy arrived today at the main base of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Navy, Baltiysk port, to participate in the Naval Interaction joint Russian-Chinese exercise, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
Hefei destroyer, Yuncheng frigate and Lomahu supply vessel of the People's Republic of China Navy are engaged in the exercise.
The officials of the exercise stressed that forthcoming naval maneuvers will be the first in history of cooperation between the two fleets and will not aimed against other countries.
The exercise will be aimed mainly at practicing and improving skills of organizing joint actions at the sea, on the ground and in the air.
Naval mariners of the two countries will practice joint anti-sabotage, air and anti-ship defence during the active phase of the exercise from July 25 till July 26.
