Multipurpose Terminal YUG-2 (Ust-Luga port) begins transshipment of pipes for Turkish Stream (photo)
Multipurpose Terminal YUG-2 (the port of Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region) has started handling pipes intended for the Turkish Stream pipeline, says press center of Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga.
According to the statement, Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga has recently acquired unique expensive equipment allowing for fast and safe transshipment of large volume of such metal products.
The works are performed under the supervision of companies involved in construction of the TurkStream. This type of cargo requires compliance of specific safety measures and involvement of cutting-edge equipment and technologies. Therefore, experts set very high standards for the quality and safety of the transshipment process.
Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga OJSC is a stevedoring company operating multipurpose terminal YUG-2 and Auto-Railway Ferry Terminal.
Multi-purpose transshipment complex Yug-2 handles rolling cargoes, mainly new imported cars, containers and general cargo. Yug-2 is the only highly specialized motor car terminal in Russia capable of handling ro-ro and con-ro vessels.
