For the second year in a row St. Petersburg becomes Top-Rated Baltic & Scandinavia Destination

On 26th of July, St. Petersburg becomes Top-Rated Baltic & Scandinavia Destination for the second year in a row according to the leading cruise reviews and information site Cruise Critic, says Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg.
 
The best cruise destination of the region was chosen directly by tourists, who left their feedback on the city and Port at Cruise Critic website and participated in "Cruisers' Choice Destination Awards 2017" vote. Other Top-Rated Baltic & Scandinavia Destinations are Tallinn (Estonia), Copenhagen (Denmark), Stockholm (Sweden) and Olden (Norway).
 
It should be noted that 2017 cruise season is expected to be a record-breaking one, with 247 calls and more than 540,000 passengers visiting. This is also expected to rise even further in 2018, with a 10% increase projected.

St. Petersburg has long been considered one of the cruise capitals of the world and is highly regarded for the diversity of its tourist programmes and for its superior level of service at any time of the year. Over the past years, the Northern Capital has won the most prestigious awards in the field of tourism, in particular:

  • the Europe's Leading Cruise Destination in 2015/2016 (Cruise Insight);
  • the World’s Leading Cultural City Destination in 2016 (the World Travel Awards Grand Final);
  • St. Petersburg is in the World's Top-15 Travel Destinations 2017 list according to TripAdvisor.
