The third leg of The Tall Ships Races 2017 on the Klaipeda - Szczecin route ended August 5, 2017. In Szczecin an open house was held onboard the Sail Training Ship MIR for all visitors, Rosmorport said.
This year, the STS Mir marks 30 years. The three-masted, full rigged training ship was built in 1987 at the Grandsk based Lenin Shipyard. The ship was designed by Polish naval architect Zygmunt Choreń, who on this big day visited the ship. Rosmorport also owns two MIR series sister ships – Nadezhda and Khersones. During his visit Mr. Choreń left a commemorative inscription in the book of honorable guests.
The Mir stopover in Poland will continue until August 8, 2017.
Then the ship will sail to Warnemünde, Germany for participation in the Hanse Sail 2017.
