Pella Shipyard (Leningrad Region) lays down a trawler for Murmanseld-2

On 15 September 2017, Pella Shipyard (Leningrad Region) held a ceremonial keel-laying of the trawler intended for catching bottom-dwelling fish and processing of the catch onboard the ship, IAA PortNews correspondent reports. The ship was ordered by Murmansk based company Murmanseld-2.

The trawler will have a 1,400-cbm freezing hold (-30°С) and a 230-cbm fishmeal room (+18°С). The freezing equipment capacity - at least 100 t of frozen product per day, filleting equipment – at least 20 t of product per day. The fish factory will be equipped with facilities for sorting, decapitation, degutting and filleting of fish as well as for production of feed farce, fish scrap and fish flour. 

Pella Shipyard based in Russia’s Leningrad region was founded in 1950. The shipyard specializes in construction of state-of-the-art multi-functional sea-going ships. One of company’s priorities is to renovate the obsolete fishing fleet of Russia.  

The shipyard can simultaneously build at least 8 sea-going ships per year with length between 50 m and 100 м and draught of up to 6 m, including Arctic class ships.
