Craneship launches icebreaking tugboat of Project Т40105, Yuribey, built for Atomflot (photo)
On 16 September 2017, Craneship, LLC (Temryuk, Krasnodar Territory) launched the icebreaking tugboat of Project Т40105, built for FSUE Atomflot under the Port Fleet Project. As Atomflot says in a press release, the ship is named after Yuribey, a river in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District (Yamal peninsula).
According to Mustafa Kashka, Chief Engineer of FSUE Atomflot, the Arc6 class ship is equipped with Azipod ICE1400.
“The Yuribey will be able to operate in Sabetta round-the-year. It is an innovative tugboat with a cutting-edge electric propulsion system”, he added.
The 7MW tugboat will be able to break through 1-meter thick ice at a speed of 2 knots. Length – 39.54 m, width - 14 m, crew - 10.
The icebreaking tugboat is expected in Murmansk in late October. Then the ship will leave for providing a range of port services in the Gulf of Ob.
As of today, port services in Sabetta are provided by tugboats of Project Т3150А, the Pur and the Tambey.
The Port Fleet Project (Portoflot project) implies the construction and operation of three ice-class tugs, one port icebreaker and one icebreaking tugboat. The vessels are under construction at Craneship LLC (Temryuk) and Vyborg Shipyard PJSC (Vyborg). The contract signed by Portoflot with Yamal LNG covers the period from 2014 till 2040.
Shipbuilding company Craneship was established in 2007 in Temryuk (Krasnodar Territory). It is a part of Transship Group. The shipyard specializes in construction of multi-purpose sea-going and port tugs of 1,200 to 6,400 h.p. and ice class of up to ARC5, floating cranes and transshipment facilities, barges and bilge water removing ships.
