Russian Government is set to ease customs formalities, Igor Shuvalov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, said at the governmental meeting chaired Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
According to him, paperwork procedures will be simplified as part of the pilot project on transition to e-documentation, said the official.
Besides, special procedure is foreseen for customs clearance of goods to exclude overlapping control.
Filling of customs declarations in electronic format will let escape current administrative procedures, said Igor Shuvalov.
He also emphasized that the changes have not only been approved by business representatives but also discussed with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
“Now, we are preparing the ratification of the Agreement on Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union. It is currently at the ad hoc committee of the State Duma. We expect the State Duma to consider the document in October and … we hope to launch the Customs Code of EEU from January 1 of the next year”, said Deputy Prime Minister.
