Registration at Frank Freight is free for owners of ships and cargo, IAA PortNews was informed by the company which designed and launched a dedicated website four months ago.
The system is fully functional today. It is a unique Internet project allowing ship owners find cargo and cargo owners find ships without involvement of freight brokers.
To use the service a registration on Frank Freight website is required.
Ship owners are to register their companies and ships. When authorized as ship owners ship brokers can also register in the system. Registered ship owners see all cargo consignments requiring transportation in certain regions. Registered cargo owners see all ships available in the required area.
Negotiations between cargo owners and ship owners or ship brokers are also held via the e-platform of Frank Freight. Direct confidential negotiations let both parties reach the best price, which is more favorable as compared with deals involving ship brokers whose margin is often not limited.
