Annual capacity of Aktau seaport (Kazakhstan) increased by 3 mln t to 19.5 mln t

Aktau International Sea Commercial Port (Kazakhstan) has put into operation new terminal facilities under the project on northwards expansion, the port’s press center cites Abai Turikpenbayev, President of JSC NC “AISCP”, as saying when the deputies of the Committee on International Relations, Defense and Security of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan were visiting the port.

With the launching of new facilities the port’s annual capacity increased by 3 mln t, from 16.5 mln t to 19.5 mln t.

Mr Turikpenbayev emphasized that the new terminal for transshipment of dry bulk and general cargo ensures diversification of the port’s traditional cargo base.

According to him, the port is intensively developing transshipments towards Iran, agreements have been reached to transship the products of Uralkali, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works, Russian timber.

The Republican State Enterprise "Aktau International Sea Commercial Port" operates in the port of Aktau situated on the eastern coast of the Caspian sea, the only sea port of the Republic of Kazakhstan aimed for international shipping of different dry cargos, crude oil and oil products.
