In January-September 2017, the Port of Helsinki (Finland) handled 10.5 mln t of cargo (+12.7%, year-on-year), the port authority says.
Transshipment of import cargo grew by 13.2% to 5.5 mln t, export cargo – by 11.5% to 5 mln t.
The port’s container traffic grew by 6.4% to 364,990 TEUs.
Passenger traffic climbed by 1.8% to 9 mln passengers.
The Port of Helsinki is one of the largest ports in Finland, the largest passenger port and the third largest in the Baltic Sea. The Port of Helsinki accounts for 77% of Finland's passenger traffic. In 2016, the port handled 11.62 mln t of cargo (+1.9%, year-on-year).
