The Pacific Fleet surface squadron consisting of the major anti-submarine ships Admiral Vinogradov and Admiral Panteleyev, large sea tanker Boris Butoma, has left Muara port (Brunei) today, says press center of RF Defence Ministry. The Passex exercise was conducted after the end of a visit involving signal organization, information exchange and joint maneuvering tasks.
During the 5-day visit the Pacific Fleet surface squadron command met with Brunei military and political authorities and foreign states diplomatic corps representatives.
The Russian ships were open for visit for Brunei Navy troops, Muara civilians and guests on October 15. More than 2,000 people visited the ships during the day.
The Pacific fleet surface squadron conducted counter-sabotage group exercise together with Brunei Special Forces unit with a focus on exchanging the experience.
The Pacific Fleet squadron under command of Rear Admiral Eduard Mikhailov left Vladivostok on October 2 in order to conduct long voyage tasks.
The voyage is undergoing within the framework of the Russian Federation Armed Forces international cooperation plan and will last 4 months. The Pacific Fleet ships will make nine unofficial visits and business calls in the foreign ports. The main aim of the voyage is demonstrating Russian Navy ensign in the Asia-Pacific region and the further development of naval cooperation with Asia-Pacific countries.
