Throughput of port Primorsk in 9M’17 down 8% Y-o-Y to 44.68 mln t

In January-September 2017, the port of Primorsk handled 44,686,000 of cargo, which is 8% down, year-on-year. According to the port authority, crude oil transshipment fell by 10% to 34,112,300t. Transshipment of oil products was flat, year-on-year, at 10,573,700 t.

In 2016, the port handled 64.42 mln t, up 8% Y-o-Y.

Port Primorsk is Russia’s largest oil port in the Baltic Sea. It is the final stage of the Baltic Pipeline System (BPS). In 2016, the port’s throughput grew by 8%, year-on-year, to 64.42 mln t.

Seaport of Primorsk is located in the Leningrad Region, on the eastern coast of the Bjyerkezund Strait (Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea). With its unique deep canal and large water area the port is capable of accommodating 200,000 DWT vessels, almost the largest ones able to enter the Baltic Sea.
