In January-September 2017, the port of Kaliningrad handled 10,173,300 t of cargo, up 17%, year-on-year, says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo grew 2.3 times to 2,329,400 t including 599,000 t of coal (+24%). Transshipment of mineral fertilizers fell by 82% to 2,800 t with other cargoes showing an increase (up 3.2 times).
Transshipment of dry loose cargo dropped by 12% to 2,679,400 t, general cargo – by 14% to 956,600 t.
The port’s container throughput grew by 32.7% to 186,240 TEUs.
Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 1,087,100 t (+19%), liquid bulk cargo – 2,238,600t (+22%) including 1,207,600 t of oil products (+43%), 506,700 t of crude oil (-13%) and 479,000 t of food cargo (+25%).
In 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 11.70 mln t (-8%).
