“Multipurpose Reloading Complex” LLC (MRC, a company of UCL Holding) in the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region) says it heads on to improve the environmental safety of operations.
For 9 months of 2017 the company invested 2.72 million RUR in environmental activity- almost twice as much as the same period of last year. In particular, MRC increased the outlays for modernization and maintenance of environmental facilities – the financing grew up to 1.7 million RUR from the beginning of this year.
Mainly, these funds were spent for reconstruction of temporary waste storage area. Also, MRC increased the investments into monitoring of environment – the expenditures for these actions amounted to 750 thousand RUR. The scope of works included control of coastal zone management, auditing of sewage disposals, atmospheric air and noise level. The results proved that MRC’s environmental effects correspond to the statutory standards.
Within the mentioned period the resources were also allocated for development of environmental documents, waste removal and other ecological actions in the framework of the existing legislation.
