Brisbane wins Port of the Year 2017
Port of Brisbane, Queensland’s largest multi-cargo port, has received the Port or Terminal of the Year Award at the Australian Shipping & Maritime Industry Awards, the company said in its press release.
Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) CEO, Roy Cummins, said he was proud to receive the award, which was testament to the hard work and high standards set by the Port’s employees.
Every year, Port of Brisbane handles approximately $50 billion in international trade, including around 95% of Queensland’s containers, more than 90% of its motor vehicles, and around half of its agricultural exports.
Over the next five years, PBPL will invest almost $600 million in capacity-building infrastructure to improve port access, and continue to invest in innovation to position the port for a digital future.
