Cargo transportation through the Northern Sea Route is forecasted to grow this year by 36% Y-o-Y to 10.2 mln t, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Nikolay Monko, Deputy Head of the NSR Administration, as saying at the VII International Forum “Arctic: Today and the Future”.
As of 1 December 2017, the Northern Sea Route traffic totaled 9.69 mln t, he said adding that the forecast takes into consideration the loading of two tankers at port Sabetta.
Transit transportation has dropped by 9% to 194,000 t (28 transit voyages).
