Russian Chamber of Shipping and water transport employees sign sectoral agreement for 2018-2020 (photo)

Representatives of Russian trade unions and All-Russian Association of Water Transport Employers have signed a sectoral agreement for 2018-2020, IAA PortNews correspondent reported from the ceremony held in the framework of the Transport Week 2017 (6 December 2017).

On the part of the employees, the sectoral agreement was signed by the heads of Trade Union of Water Transport Employees, Seafarers’ Union of Russia, Trade Union of Atomic Energy Industry Employees, Russian Oil, Gas and Construction Workers' Union. On the part of the employers, the document was signed by Russian Chamber of Shipping.

The Agreement sets forth common terms of remuneration, guarantees, benefits and privileges for the water transport industry employees.

The document will serve as a basis for collective and individual labor contracts with social guarantees not below the level foreseen by this Agreement.
 
When speaking at the ceremony, Aleksey Klyavin, President of Russian Chamber of Shipping, said: “The Agreement creates a foundation for stability and higher living standards of seafarers, establishes a framework for signing collective labor contracts by all companies of the sector, ensures competitive social and economic conditions for operation of vessels under the flag of Russia".
