Port of Helsinki’s West Terminal 2 awarded recognition for accessibility
The Port of Helsinki’s West Terminal 2 has been awarded the City of Helsinki Council on Disability’s annual recognition for accessibility, Port of Helsinki said in its press release.
The Council on Disability praised how easy West Terminal 2 is to navigate for persons with disabilities as well. The recognition was awarded at the City of Helsinki Council on Disability’s traditional morning coffee event held to promote the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 4 December 2017.
Persons with disabilities have their own societal participation forum in Helsinki – the City of Helsinki Council on Disability. The Council brings together representatives from associations for disabled people, City office-holders and elected officials to seek functional solutions for a more accessible and equal society.
