Okskaya shipyard lays down the third oil barge of Project ROB20 (photo)
Okskaya Sudoverf (part of UCL Holding) says it has laid down the third non-self-propelled loading barge of Project ROB20 in a series of ten vessels to be built for Paula Rise LLC (St. Petersburg) with STLC as a customer. Keel-laying of the 6,000DWT barge of О-class and Novaya Belskaya type was held on 20 December 2017, says Marine Engineering Bureau, the project designer.
The contract was signed on 31 October 2017 with the delivery scheduled for the first half of 2018.
For many owners of oil vessels in Russia the 1st of January, 2018 is the deadline when they stop operating tankers built in soviet period.
River transportation of dangerous cargo (including light oil and oil products) by single hull tankers is not allowed under national regulations.
Non-self-propelled loading barges are designed to transport petroleum products with a flashpoint of 600C and above, the main cargo is fuel oil.
Main dimensions: LOA – 118.79 m, BOA – 22.80 m, depth – 4 m, draft – 2.75 m, deadweight – 6,013 t, cargo tanks capacity – 6,860 cbm. RRR class - О 2.0 non-self-propelled tanker.
The lead barge of Project ROB20 was laid down on 22 November 2017, the second and the third – on 30 November 2017.
