Freight traffic at the Port of Singapore between January and December, 2017, increased by 5.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2016 to 626.17 million tonnes, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore provisional figures show.
Handling of oil products rose 4.6% to 231,53 million tonnes, while dry bulk volumes did not change, remained at 18.6 million tonnes.
Container traffic grew by 8.9% to 33.7 million TEUs.
Singapore is the city-state located on an island in the South-East Asia. In 2016, container traffic at the Port of Singapore reached 30.9 TEUs, total cargo throughput was 593.3 million tonnes.
