The training ship Perekop, the Baltic Fleet, is preparing for a long cruise, the route of which was laid for the first time along the Northern Sea Route, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
It is planned that the ship will pass through four oceans, call in Sevastopol and Vladivostok to rotate cadets, and also will call in number of foreign ports.
The ship is scheduled to depart in the second quarter of 2018.
The ship was built under the Project 887 (Smolny), floated out in the Szczecin Shipyard in Poland on December 11, 1976 for the Soviet Navy, equipped with modern radio engineering and navigation equipment, and combat armament.
