Hapag-Lloyd will further expand its global port coverage by introducing a dedicated service linking our comprehensive global mainliner service network with key ports in East Africa, the company said in its press release.
Effective beginning of April 2018, Hapag-Lloyd will be deploying four vessels into newly established East Africa Service (EAS). The service will connect Hapag-Lloyd global liner network to East Africa via Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) with weekly connections to and from Mombasa (Kenya) and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).
At Jeddah, the EAS will connect to numerous Hapag-Lloyd mainliner services. Simultaneously, Hapag-Lloyd will be establishing local representation in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda through Diamond Shipping Services Ltd.
