Russian Railways' network loading up 3.5% to 103.5 mln t in January 2018
In January 2018, the network of Russian Railways loaded 103.5 bln t of cargo, up 3.5%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 31 mln t (-1.1%, year-on-year); coke – 0.903 mln t (-3.8%); crude and oil products – 20.7 mln t (-2.5%); iron and manganese ore – 9.2 mln t (+4.3%); ferrous metal – 6.6 mln t (+10.5%); ferrous metal scrap – 0.659 mln t (-17.8%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 5.2 mln t (+6,3%); cement – 1.2 mln t (+6.2%); timber – 3.4 mln t (+5.8%); grain – 2.2 mln t (+36.6%); construction cargo – 8.8 mln t (+13.3%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 1.6 mln t (flat, year-on-year); chemicals and soda – 2.4 mln t (+2.7%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 2.8 mln t (+5.6%).
From the beginning of the year, freight turnover totaled 214.8 bln tariff ton-km (+5.6%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 273.8 bln ton-km (+4.4%).
